"We have been working with Judi P. Keene for several years and she has contributed many innovative ideas for our industry shows and special events at BIW. She is thoughtful, cooperative, creative and completely focused on customer satisfaction. Our most recent experience with the christening of SAMPSON (DDG 102) will illustrate.
For our ship christenings we engage about 75 vounteer employees to assist in managing various aspects of these events that attract from 2,000-5,000 visitors to BIW. We outfit these individuals in custom "uniform" shirts and, for the SAMPSON event in mid-September, we worked with Judi to place our order as usual. When the shirts were delivered, we found them to be oversized to the point where we were afraid the appearance of our staff would be compromised. While the shirts technically met size specifications, Judi understood our concern and quickly offered us a couple of solutions.
Going well beyond what I considered to be reasonable, she personally laundered the shirts in hot water and used a hot dry cycle to cause enough natural shrinkage of the 100% cotton shirts to improve the fit. The results were excellent and the event team looked sharp. When I mentioned to her that she went beyond any expectations I had, she responded simply that she wanted to do whatever it took to ensure we were happy with the order - and, indeed, we were.
Judi is an outstanding representative for Geiger and we will look forward to working with her for many years to come. I am pleased to have her as a valued member fo the BIW Communications Team as well."
