Inventory Specialist


Under general supervision of Corporate Programs Operations Manager, associate will order merchandise, maintain and set up products in computer inventory management program, maintain product forecast, process drop ship orders, and provide inventory information/analysis for all Catalog Merchandising Programs.


Duties require computer proficiency and math skills equivalent to 4 years of high school and knowledge of computer software, inventory maintenance, record keeping and forecasting. Need someone with statistical analysis knowledge equivalent to 2 years of college.

Work requires one year of related experience in inventory processing.

• Set up and maintain product configurations, pricing, and specifications
• Evaluate stocking suggestion from inventory forecasts and purchase within purchasing authority. Seek approval for purchase amounts above authority
• Monitor and report exposure on inventory levels above client commitment
• Process and resolve claims from vendor production errors on stocking purchase orders
• Validate purchase order information with vendor acknowledgements and communicate pricing issues to Program Managers
• Prepare drop ship orders and fax to vendors
• Research and respond to vendor invoice discrepancies from account payable
• Coordinate split shipping of stocking orders
• Maintain inventory adjustments in the warehouse as needed
• Reconcile inventory buyouts from invoices to match up to general ledger amounts
• Respond or direct vendor email correspondence, phone calls, and requests for proof approvals and or specifications
• Update system from daily reports such as Landed cost, Late PO’s, and Customer Owned receiving
• Research and respond to warehouse and call center hotlines
• Maintain site sale receptions and adjustments
• Process program batch purchase orders
• Track and report unsatisfactory vendor performance in areas of meeting delivery dates and product quality
• Other duties as assigned
